Thinking In Animation

Once you understand the mechanics of animation, the difference between you and any other animator who knows half their stuff is your ability to act, to create believable performances. Part of crafting a believable performance is knowing when to give your characters time to process, think, and react. The difference between student animation and animation in film, the spark that makes feature film characters feel so alive, is that there are real thoughts happening inside the screen.
