That’s why our mentorships are designed to go beyond just fundamentals. We focus heavily on acting and polish for feature animation, helping you create performances that feel real and truly connect with your audience.
How Does a Mentorship at Lupin House Work?

Our mentors are active professionals currently working in the animation industry. With extensive experience on feature films at some of the world’s top studios—Pixar, Disney, Sony, DNEG, Illumination, and more—you’ll be learning directly from the best!
How do you choose a mentor?
Watch the reels below and find a mentor whose work inspires you. Maybe you prefer something more cartoony, or perhaps you’re drawn to realistic and subtle animation.
Once you’ve watched the reels, select your top three mentor choices when you apply. If your first choice isn’t available, you’ll typically be matched with your second.

We understand that everyone learns at their own pace, and mentorships can be a big investment. That’s why we offer flexible options, allowing you to join us for as little as six weeks and start any time when you are ready.
Choose the Right Mentorship Length for You
6 Weeks – Ideal for experienced animators who work fast and want industry-level feedback on a shorter shot.
9 Weeks – Perfect if you’re ready to tackle a longer shot or an animation with two characters.
12 Weeks – Best for those who need more time, want to animate a longer shot, or work on multiple smaller shots. Use the time however you need!
Fun Fact!
We offer flexible extensions, so you can start with the 6-week mentorship and extend in 3-week increments if you need more time to finish your shot!

Apply!
Our mentorships are advanced and focus primarily on acting notes and performance—the same kind of feedback you’d receive from a director on a feature film. Because of this, we expect animators to be at a level where they can take notes and apply them effectively, including any fundamental adjustments.
For this reason, we don’t accept everyone if you still need to work on your fundamentals. However, if you’re not successful this time, we offer pre-recorded courses and masterclasses to help you build your skills and get up to speed for the next time you apply.

Congratulations! You’re In! You’ve been accepted, chosen your mentor, and picked your start date, so what’s next?
1. Prepare for Your First Class
Once accepted, you’ll get access to our onboarding videos and our character rigs, where you’ll learn:
- How to find great dialogue
- How to create unique and believable performances
- How to present your work for review
- Everything you need to be fully prepared for your first class
- Rig overviews to familiarize yourself with our characters
2. Select Your Rigs
Whether you want to animate one, two, or even three characters, we’ve got you covered! Choose from seven feature-quality characters, built for maximum flexibility and ready for Arnold rendering.
Our Mission: Helping You Get Noticed
Our goal is to help you reach a feature-quality level that stands out to recruiters.
At the end of your mentorship, your shot will be professionally lit and rendered with a modeled background, giving you a polished, standout piece for your portfolio and showreel.
Please note: Only finished shots will be rendered. "Finished" means your mentor has approved your work with no further notes. We do not render incomplete animations.
